ABC Challenge - D is for Did It On 'Em

Hello There! I hope everyone is having a good week! It’s been freezing here in Utah and has been snowing for the better part of 2 weeks now. I can’t wait til we get some heat around here!

For the ABC Challenge today, I have something that I thought was pretty awesome. D is for Did It On ‘Em by OPI. This color is a bright greenish-yellow creme from the Nicki Minaj collection last year. I didn't like the color by its self so I decided to add some “Dots” because its D week! J For my dots, I used Zoya Storm, which I am IN LOVE WITH. I just got this Zoya polish with the Color Your World promo they did earlier this month and I can’t wait to try it out some more. Stay warm ladies and have a great day!

ABC Challenge - C is for Cha Cha Twist

Happy hump day! For the letter C, I thought I would go with a polish I have not worn in a long time, All That Glitters Cha Cha Twist. This polish has a blue jelly base packed with blue, black, aqua and red glitters in all shapes and sizes! It definitely has some bling to it and I love the color on my hands. I did about 3-4 coats to get full coverage on the nails and it dries fast. I can’t wait to see what everyone else in the challenge has today!

ABC Challenge - B is for Butter London

Hey there ladies! For today's ABC Challenge, the letter is B. I decided I would go with Butter London The Black Knight. This is such a pretty polish and extremely hard to photograph with my iPhone. The polish has a black sheer base packed with pink, black, blue and silver glitters. I did about 3 coats for full coverage. Because I wasn't able to get a good shot of the glitter, I ended up taking a blurry picture to show the shimmer in this polish. Its pretty awesome :) Enjoy your day!

Ruffle Manicure

Happy Monday ladies! I'm sad to see my weekend go but happy that a new week is here and ready to get this one done and over with. Over the weekend I decided to try the ruffle manicure that I saw on Chalkboard Nails. When I say "over the weekend," I really mean it. It took me 2 days just for one hand. Now, I did do each finger individually which is probably why it took so long, but if I would have done a hand at a time, things would have gone really wrong. I am so impatient when it comes to waiting for my nails to dry and this was really time consuming. BUT, the end result was awesome.

For this look I used all Ulta nail lacquer in Taupe on a Rope, Peach Parfait, Maine Attraction, Mint Condition, and Cream of the Crop. All are pastel colors that went great together. Let me know your thoughts on this mani and if anyone has suggestions, please let me know :)

ABC Challenge - A is for AHOY!

Good Morning! I am so excited for today's post because I will be participating in my first challenge! Kimber at Kimbers Lacquer Korner is hosting an ABC Challenge that will require posting once a week. Which is awesome because blogging everyday for me is hard! The posts are to be on Wednesday's but I did my nails so late last night I was too tired to post anything.

When I read about the challenge I got really excited and couldn't wait to go home and see what I had in my stash that starts with the letter "A". I went through my un-tried pile and found AHOY! by China Glaze. AHOY! is a raspberry color with gold micro-glitter. This is such a pretty color and went on smoothly. Enjoy your day ladies!

Saran Wrap Mani using American Apparel Sheer

Hello! To start my week I thought I would try something I've seen around for a bit now, the saran wrap mani. This was my first attempt and I think it came out pretty good! I followed this tutorial I found on YouTube from Chelsea at Get Nailed and it couldn't have been easier. For my base I used American Apparel Sheer in Zuma Beach. I then used American Apparel Sheer in Moonlight Beach for the top. I'm pretty excited about how it came out. This was such an easy manicure I'll probably do it more often.  I cant wait to play around with some other colors and see what kind of combinations I can come up with. Have a wonderful week!

Butter London Scallywag and Tape Mani

One of my New Years goals is to become better at nail art and design. I love nail polish with a passion but when it comes to nail art, I’m not the best. I have the hardest time coming up with an idea and when I think of one, I don’t feel I have the artistic abilities to make it happen. So this year, I’m going to do my best and see what I can come up with.

For my first mani of the new year, I decided to try Butter London. It’s been hard to purchase one of these just because I have a hard time with spending $14 on a nail polish. Luckily, my lovely boyfriend got me a few for Christmas so let the fun begin!

Scallywag (love the name) is part of their Holiday 2012 collection and is a bright turquoise glitter that is to die for. After just one coat I had full coverage but I decided to go with 2 coats to make it pop. When it dried, I had some issues with the striping tape not sticking to the glitter. The polish dried a little rough so I had to use a thin coat of fast dry clear polish and even then, I couldn’t get the tape to stick. Determined to make it work, I ended up using blue painters tape cut into strips. To my surprise, after applying Sinful Colors Black on Black, it worked! Below you have my end result. I think I did a pretty fine job, and it’s probably one of my favorite manicures I have done on myself.
